I could get a disclaimer they sign maybe? does that cover anything like that?
Disclaimers are only an understanding of what you are letting yourself in for with paintball. They have no legal standing in a liability case

It only covers you that you made the players aware that paintball is energetic, it does not stop them claiming for your negligence, their loss of earnings etc if they have an accident, or even claiming against you for someone else's negligence

jesus there are some crazy ideas going round. If it's your land and you think you can make it safe then go for it!

...and don't bother with insurance which will invariably be crazy money. Just get some mates and play some paintball ffs

He's not trying to start a commercial site, just have a laugh with some buddies. End of the day it's paintball not lion taming, just use common sense and everything will be fine.

Talk about mountains out of mole hills...

No legal issues as long as you're far enough from roads, public foot paths etc. You can shoot an airgun on your own land, you can shoot birds out the sky with a shotgun as long as you have the license and arn't endangering anyone so paintballs shouldn't be an issue.
