There has been some debate on facebook as to the similarity of the MS layout to the PSP Galverston field and the advantage that this may give to those teams playing with players that also play PSP (probably more CPL and SPL teams than many might think).

Below is a quick and dirty over lay of the two layouts, I don't claim it to be 100% accurate, but its pretty damn close (closer I think than the one that originally appeared on facebook). Discuss.

How is it possibly an advantage? Some players playing a layout that is similar in some respects versus teams practicing the precise layout during the same period of time. Or do you mean y'all prefer for your Americans to have as little familiarity with any given layout as possible? :)

I didn't say it was, the discussion (since deleted) on facebook suggested it might be. As we know, every field is different, even the most rigorously laid out training field differs from the event field(s). At least in Pro/CPL there is only usually one event field to contend with.

I agree, the Euro based teams will have had the chance to grind for 4 weeks on the layout, whereas those US players & teams will have one event on a similar field and maybe a couple of weekends on a facsimile, but without the M & mini Ms it won't be the same.

P.S. feel free to lift the overlay if you wish ;)

I think you meant one event on a similar field and maybe an hour on the grossly expensive CPL field prior to the event. Fixed. :) TBH, the mini-Ms look enough like the mini-races they probably play quite similarly. If you'll be at the event stop by and say hello.
