Tippmann Challange Aftermath

In my experience i have never witnessed anything being stolen at any Shoreline or major scenario game i have been to. I have heard from more experienced players that it just about never happens at these games. I don't include walk ons or big games, I'm talking about scenario games and i go to most of them.

The thing i take issue with is saying that it is usual, it's not usual.

I am going to add my Two penneth, This is the first Shoreline event I have played and it was very good, I was a little annoyed at all the talk of registering between 7 and 8 am and having to had your gun checked and chronod before 9 am. We turned up at 7 am to make sure not late, we had chroned and ready to go by 8 am, we then had to wait around until 10 am for game on.

I did think that the initial speak thing was a little long winded expecially as more than 2 thirds of the players were experienced but I suppose you do have to do all the "Boring" safety stuff at each event.

Apart from this I had a brilliant day, went with 3 team mates who have all been playing for 15+ years although we are all Tourney Players, but that said, we are all liking the Scenario events more and more.

The game was very very good, we were in the Black team and Triads with Gooch as our leader, He and his team were very good, always giving instructions and eager to do what was needed for our "Mission".

My only gripe was that I kept shooting all my paint and air too quickly, and so having to keep trudging back to stock up again.

I agree about the Food and Drink, but come on guys, we all know how much a Paintball Site is able to cater for players, even 600 odd. The only way to make sure you have enough food and drink is to bring your own. We did wait about 20 mins for a burger but thats life.

I was at the wrong end of some "over firing" but as has already been said, it's not as if you only have one gun trained on you. I never witnessed any real nastiness, and each time I was out and had to walk through the opposition, with my gun and hands on my head, I never had any problems or being shot at.

All in all, I had a very good days ballin with my friends, made a few new ones aswell. The £50.00 entry was a little steep, but again a normal day out is £60 Plus.

Finally on the subject of the missing items, this is the sixth scenario day I have been on, each time I am vary wary of leaving my expensive toys laying around but have never had any issues, or have any of my team mates.

Thanks to Tim and Shoreline, Thanks also to the lovely Cake eating Men from Lips for the excellent paint, and thanks to all the players, it was a blast.

The marker went missing around 11:30, organisers were informed but security at the entrance gate opposite the car park weren't told until PapaG got on the radio to be on the look out til 45mins later by which time 'someone' wearing a mask carrying just two markers had already walked past them en route to the car park, ok this may have just been a coinsistance but there was no reason to be wearing a mask at that gate and only taking markers out is a little suspect.

To be fair I walked out to the car park carrying just a marker and had my goggles on until I'd cleared the security desk - as that whole road bordered a field and I quite like my eyeballs!

I wasn't at the Tippmann Challange but went off big games couple of years ago at N-v-S (when it moved). I thought 'ballers were a generally honest bunch on the field until that game when I actually heard people say that "you're not out until a marshall tells you you are", the year before it took a marshal about 20 minutes to figure out the reason a player on the edge of an open field could hit us when we couldn't get anywhere near him was he'd cranked his marker up to 450 fps, the stargate before I was walking out of the game down the track to the safe zone when I got hit five times in my raised hand from about 15 yards away. Everyone was great off the field and I don't mind the odd bit of overshooting (as long as it stops when someone is clearly out), I don't even mind the response triggers ripping at me.

I stick to walkon's now, very rarely get anyone cheating at my regular one, to the point that if its only regulars there we are trusted to only crono first thing in the morning and after dinner. Don't give up Renie.

I stick to smaller walkon's now, much cheaper and much more fun.

In which case I stand corrected, there is a good reason to be wearing a mask at this point.

I have no problem with people correcting me I am happy enough to be proved wrong and I sincerely hope this continues, as at present I don't think either of the two markers 'missing' from this event will be reunited with their owners.

Great atmosphere in the trade area and we got to meet old and new customers, loads of banter and we had a real good time

I would like to thank everyone for supporting this series it really has set the bar high and we can not wait for the next leg.

Well done to Tim and all the guys who work so hard behind the scene to make this happen, it has actually made me think about picking up a marker again and getting out there.

Onwards to sunny Wakefield!!!

got too agree with Gassy there needs to be a rate of fire cap
but most of all there needs to be a check on what types of paint is being used ,i have seen at events frostbite being sold by vendors and it is a warm day in september
you might aswell have been shooting marbles at people

The paint from the guys at LIPS was great as usual the 4* shot really well, no bounces with that stuff

Not been to a huge amount of big games and this was my first super 6 event, but I thoroughly enjoyed my self.
Met a great bunch of guys, got my hands on some great kit, loved having a look around the shops and getting to pick the kit up and look before you buy it.
And had a great game on the sunday, even thought my team lost.
I think it's a bit harsh to hold the stealing against the organizers, it's gona happen where ever you get a huge massing of people. And especially there it's going to be difficult to control. But the security guys were fantastic really, sorted out the group throwing flashbangs nice and quick.
And almost forgot one of the best bits of the weekend...THE GLOWSTICK WAR...
think it's worth going back next year just for that.
