Hey,
I started in the woods then moved to 7man..... bring back the good old times of the M25 league !! They were fecking awesome. Hanging out with the team, playing some games. Not a shout of 'you cheating c@nt' , 'f@ck off ref I shot him first' .... you get the picture..
5man appeared when it was impossible to field the full 7man squad and that was cool too.
XBall seemed the way forward but it is pricey and even though I played a year in the CPL and two SPL with the greatly appreciated support of my sponsors the sheer cost and repetative nature of the games killed it for me.
I have subsequently played some lower level XBall and that was fun but I have ended up finding F5 which I think gives me what I want out of paintball.
Also the woods have drawn me in and I have been playing quite a few scenario days over the past few years.
I think generally that I just like playing ball and I don't mind what format I play. The most fun I had was 2009 where I did not play many tournaments but just when training with the teams up Bricket Wood. All fun honest play !!
Locking teams in and charging them two arms a leg to play with refs having to follow a little Hitler's rule book is not the way forward. Forget about trying to make a format that is TV friendly. The sport is just not TV orientated with tiny balls of paint traveling too fast for the camera..... well that has all been covered before...
