I'm amazed that even though its generally recognised XBall is killing our sport, we still have people voting for it ... I spose that tells us something but it's not really something I wanna acknowledge.

It's perplexing to say the least but it might explain why we are in the position we find ourselves in I suppose.
Pete,

this may be the only format some people really know.
I voted seven man based on experience of all formats and it's the one I liked most although I really enjoyed the Ultimate Woodsball League format at Bassett pole last year.

What are you doing on Sunday the 15th of May? If you can make it to Colchester (CO6 3DN) I will get you both a game so you can try it out!

It is like xball on steroids without the mindless laning...
Many thanks for the offer, but that day i will be recovering from the mother of all hangovers as it is just after my final exams.

Will hopefully experience it at some point in the near future however.

I think you guys should stick with X-ball, and watch your leagues shrink year after year, making them more and more expensive to play as they try to remain profitable.
This way, you have a shed-load to moan about, and can keep begging Dye and Eclipse to come in and 'rescue you', presumably by dumping an ass-full of their cash for no good business-reason and 'making it cheaper' for you..

...or, you could choose a sustainable format.

;) I know when I starting writing my reply it was a toss up between 3 so I made a new format up. Now I just need 30 odd teams to agree to playing it and ill convince Rich its a good idea for the CPPS :)

Thanks for the offer Donk-Ill check my paintballing timetable.
Sid,

Had to go with 7 man, it was so much better than xball is now, hell even 10man is better than xball. Part of what is missing is the teams nowadays don't always make a weekend of it, those that do have a top time.

Remember the old 3 man and fight club at NSPA? According to my teenage step son, they were the best paintball days he has had in the last 4 years. He has played woodland, scenario, Masters, Blackpool and CPPS. So for once I believe he has an opinion worth listening to, and in his opinion 3 man were we used to play 12 games or more in one evening appeals to him more than the race to 2 he is currently playing.

As a feeder to bigger teams it is good. Hopefully with time he will experience more paintball tournies and continue to improve.

The three man was great Gaz, not so much for the paintball but for the craic. We had a great setup and some great guys each week shame $$ ruined it but hey ho. wait till Sids 7man race 2 starts ;)

I used to love playing midland masters, 1/2 the day on Sup'air other 1/2 in the woods, I will admit that my age is catching up with me and I'm not fit enough to play X-ball. But I still love the woods and enjoyed playing the UWL, unfortunatly there wasn't enough interest shown to keep it running. Maybe if some teams had tried it, they may have enjoyed it. I know Ledz and his Sandbaggers and the Lucky 15's did.

One other thing, I notice that this thread is referenced over at VFTD. One post, made presumably by a member of this forum, refers to Americans as 'ameritards'.

If you'tre going to post on a US paintball website, and post there saying that the euro-scene is in trouble, and how you would love for Dye to come and run an event series for you, you might want to be a bit more respectful. I know when I read it, I thought "way to blow it pal", and I'm not even American...
