I came across a video on the net. What do you guys reckon? I think the cop was spot on, well within his rights and totally respectful. Anyone else? got any diffreing opinions?

Also, here's where I found it. Have a read of the comments, and see if you agree/disagree with any. http://scoutmagazine.ca/2010/07/13/you-touch-me-with-that-bubble-and-youre-going-into-custody/

Also, I thought I'd be quirky and put the title in a different colour. It's good to be a mod [/reclines in leather armchair]

tbh mate, the women officer tells the story on her face, you can see it, almost embarrassed for him.

Out of order, he blames it on getting it in her eye's, yet she doesn't have a problem with it.

Police should be better than that and rise above silly acts to annoy them, its what their trained/paid for. Do you really think anything happened to her, so a waste of police time arresting her, booking her in and keeping her in cells for a few hours just to let her out, pointless.

Agreed. The guy was well within his rights to do whatever he did (don't entirely know if it's just to do with bubbles, since the video just *happened* to have blanked out the few minutes before she got arrested), but for the sake of a mild annoyance and a video on the internet, it's easier just to let it slide and avoid this kind of attention.

Either way, he sure burst her bubble.

I think the opposite. It's not about the bubbles. I think she was there to antagonise the police.
He told her as it was, and some guy got bent outta shape about him not being polite. He's not there to be polite (and he wasn't particularly disrepectful imo) he's there to do a job. When somebody has to fall back obn "well you could have said it more nicely" they're reeling in an argument.

Then we see her getting arrested, for what we dunno. I kinda doubt it was the bubbles. So what? What was she there for?

Kudos to the cop, within his rights, within his job. Bitch got told.

I think he came across as a bit too aggressive but I see why he took that stance.

Of course she was. Everything about her screamed 'arrest me for something stupid!', including her completely feigned 'but I'm just innocently blowing some bubbles around, Mr. Officer' puppy face that made me want to punch her so hard.

I still stand by my view, though. It was designed to get a rise, and they got one. On camera. For the sake of a little detergent, just wait until they actually do something stupid (which I'm sure they did) instead of giving them the satisfaction they were looking for.

But hey, I probably would have done the same. I may have even been less polite.

Nah. We all know why she was there and whta she was trying to do. Why should he sugarcoat it? Told her like it is. Should have arrested he then and there, maybe some of the other hippies might've taken notice.

I think he's an absolute ass. If he's behaving like that on camera you can bet he's an absolute thug behind closed doors. The female cops face says it all and the young womans clearly upset by the response. Officer Bubbles looks like he's regreting his words as soon as he's said them. Instead of laughing the situation off he escalates it, just what you want when your trying to police a crowd.
I've been at the receiving end of idiots like him at TU marches, poll tax protests and during the SPG stop and search days in the the 80s. You know which ones they are before you start - name tags covered and trying to look like the terminator. I've not much time for trouble makers on either side of the line but being upset about bubbles!
Chopper has it right - Harden the F#ck Up and stop picking on girls.

**** er , it's just another smelly hippy who loves the idea of being radical for the few years she's at college then will spend the remainder of her life being bloody glad that the police are primed to look after middle class white people , personally I hope they chucked her in the cells for the weekend with two dykes who look like Eric Bristow and she found out how far that CND tattoo could stretch.
