New player advice on gear

if you havent already got your own goggles i suggest getting a decent set first like events jt's or dye's that will improve your playing experience loads as it wont keep steaming up. also if you are after accuracy then the tippmann flatline barrel is great but are very costly and the problem with tippmann there very bulky and quite heavy and if you try to get into sup air/ tourneys then you would probably need to invest in a new marker.

hello, size or weight of a marker is not an issue for me, i'm 6ft 2, 200lbs with 9% body fat and in current RaF pilot training. from the things i've been through so far, this stuff is a cake walk. i'm just looking for utmost accuracy.

i'm definately going to get my goggles with my marker, but i just need help with user tested hardware considering the markers.

from the things i've read on delta force, they say free gas refills and it's most likely Co2 as the standard gun they issue is the inferno mk2 and the m16 replica

hello, i've been playing more recently lately, i currently only have access to delta force centres it seems as i live in west london
average centre's i've been to are hemel hempstead, surrey and slough

each centre seems to be using the "Inferno MKII" marker, which seems alright, but i think the accuracy of it is terrible, i was looking into taking my own gear to the centre and was wondering what would be a good option

i'm mainly looking for markers that are extremely accurate, rather than just spraying paint in a given direction considering 100 shots is £7-8

if anyone could tell me centres or walkon places that are anywhere near me (postcode UB2) and also some gear with reasons to why it's better than the standard delta force marker, please do

i also don't mind getting upgrades and such for a marker

Hi buddy, Deltaforce centers normally do not let you use your own maker and air bottle within there policy, but i do know there have been exceptions in the past, ie. you know the site managers or marshalls very well.
Once you start to own your own gear and attend walkon's, you will be hooked for sure, so choose your gear carefully and that it will be right for you as we all know, buying twice will mean more expense. Secondhand is the way to go if you are on a budget, dont be afraid to post up links on this thread from the classifieds section for advise.
If you go for new gear, give the boys down at LIPs a call, they can more than likely do a package deal.
Marker wise, if your not much of a techie, you need something reliable and easy to maintain, then go for Planet Eclipse markers. Eclipse markers have a wide range to choose from ie, Eteks as already been mentioned to the more popular highend Ego' and Geo's.
Hopper, i would recommend a Rotor, expensive, yes, secondhand good condition can be picked up for around the £60, great on battery life, less on the pocket and easy to maintain/clean in the long run.
Bottle, fibrewrapped/carbonfibre, lightweight, if buying secondhand, check the date first and ask for advise.

ideally i just want a gun that is very, very accurate, as i don't want to see a guy and take numerous shots at him, till one bullet just decides to go where i'm aiming

i don't mind spending the money, as long as it gets me a very noticeable increase in the standard markers

is it possible for someone to tell me which markers are known to have the best range and accuracy

i'm not looking for RoF and capacity

Lets try not to use the word BULLETS :tsk:
If you want accuracy, key factors are :
Make sure your marker is setup correctly.
Well maintained/clean marker/hopper.
But most importantly for accuracy/consistancy, is the quality of the paint you use and how it has been stored.

right i saw you were asking for a setup,
realy the thing you want to do is get the best u can for kit so you dont buy 2c

mask £20/30 to £80 -(i use a proto pro-axis) go to a shop try masks on, make sure its a thermal lense (duel pain so it harldy ever fogs) unless its the v-force grillz there thermo cured lense

tanks £70 to £180)- get a 68(1.1L)/4500 tank new is expenisve so have a look around on for sale + re-tests are in the region on £30-£40

hopper (£50 - £130) - i use a prophecy but a lot of people use the rotor

^^ if u get a good tank and hopper it will fit on any marker from the inferno's (at a push) upto ego 11's nt 11's ect ect

guns ( second hand torni markers (£200 up say) (new etek 3 cost me £375)

the 1st gun i properly bought and used was an etek3 is shot soo accurate out of the box i was pickin people off realy well plus with eclipse you dont have to worry about relaibilty you can allmost throw them in your kit bag and forget about em after a wipe of the bolt and get rid of any pain n stuff on it the internals just keep going.

You can bring your own gun, but only if it can operate from a Delta Force CO² bottle and subject to a chronograph test, and at the discretion of the Centre Manager. We do NOT allow any customers' own gas cylinders on site for ANY REASON.

i was hoping to just get the marker and goggles for now and later get the other additions otherwise the startup cost would be a little bit steep

this is the same reason why i ended up getting 'better stuff' and doing walk-ons and such, i just wasnt sure what they would allow and also as it say, its up to the manager, so 1 site might be ok with it, where another will say no.

but to let you know you often find packages on the for sale thread, which would be good marker, bottle, mask and other little bits and bobs for £150 upwards would be more than ample if you just want to use on site. This would give you the option of both, site days just using marker and mask, and also walk-ons if you so wish :thumb:

just something for you to think about, but also just having a good mask, would triple the fun you have at site's, they really do make that much difference

most tournament style guns wont work on CO2 so tippmanns would be best i found this thread and the marker is perfect for what your looking for i think.

i realise it says it's up to the manage, but i will always be calling up before hand to make sure and i would find a place that would accept my own gear. i'll check out that link you posted. at the moment i'm only looking for a marker at around 150 to 200, which has good accuracy, any links or deals would be nice - co2 powered most likely

have a look on the classifieds section on here too. though by going to open walk ons etc you get a chance to try out various markers and gear until you find something you like/comfortable with

If accuracy and range is most important to you, and your playing at places like delta force etc, you might like to have a look at an autococker, they come in 2 types, mechanical, which mean they are completely un aided by electronics, or e-bladed which are alot faster firing and electronically aided.

The accuracy on these types of marker are almost unrivaled by most markers out there and would probably suit you better for your playing style.
The draw back with these markers though is, the parts are quite hard to get hold of, but they are built to last.
