Josh actually requested to join our junior team at the end of last season. I accepted as from what I had personally seen of him down at NPF he was a respectful and polite kid. I've been in contact with Pete and Josh from the beginning of this whole saga and having spoken with his family last night as well as Josh himself once again, whilst his actions are far from ideal, the guy is actually extremely embarrassed (as are his parents) about his part in all of this and regrets what he has done, that much is clear. Apologies have been made.
When I compare Josh's behaviour to Tom B's, it is clear to me that they are in fact a different species entirely. Josh I'm sure will pay his dues for what has occurred; Pete has rightly banned him from the site and sure he will face some comments when and where he does play. However, he will man up and take them as he accepts that he has done wrong and is not so blind as to see it, unlike the other party involved.
Some kids just need a little guidance, and they are often too quick to follow the wrong sort of "leader". Hopefully my stable of horses will sort him out this season, and will be putting him back on the right path. I'll be keeping an eye on him and can assure anyone out there one more foot out of place and he is gone from my team, and he knows this.
I personally think that aside from the obvious fact that everyone hates a thieving liar, what most annoyed people in all of this is that these kids are the people we are passing on the torch to for the future of paintball. So many have given up years of time away from family and their hard earned cash, and with paintball in the state that it is currently in, we want to think it's been passed onto people who appreciate it, not fools like Breakwell.
