there are silver marks from screws but none have caused a hole in the solenoid, there is no gas leaking at all, the marks are quite substantial and I have only removed the grip frame once to put in a fresh battery as suggested above as I had no reason to before
I've seen some hideously tight screws in grips b4..almost made me weap when I consider the price of solenoids....yes it's happened to me with a marker I purchased an Egor '6...:(
Even a dent could affect the movement, like a car with sticking brakes as soon as it starts moving it's ok,just the inital start is impaired.
Service the solenoid as a last resort it's not hard follow the manual.

the thing with grip screw is the crush the internals of the solenoid. and there may not be any holes. but damage may be done. like i said get it off to planet. or live with it. after all its still just the odd first ball ?

had the same sounding fault on my etek 1 i bought at the beginning of the year finally after weeks of adjusting settings looking at the dint in my solenoid i removed the grip frame from the main body and you will see pipes coming from solenoid to metal elbows screwed to the body of the marker these were not quite tight (loose) nipped them up and my first shot drop-off stopped give that a try mate

Does it sound any different between the first shot and others?
After rapid firing is it ok or do you still get the drop off on the first?
Try it if your not sure..rapid fire then fire 1,then leave it a while,3-4 minutes and fire 1..what happens?
If it occours after the rest only then I'd still llo0k at the solenoid..

Leadgate
Remove the exhaust valve and valve spring from the rammer assembly and inspect the sealing face of both the rammer assembly body and exhaust valve for any excessive wear or damage. If the exhaust valve or brass bushed valve guide is damaged then replace.

will send it off to planet, have them take a look and if needs be replace the solenoid, spoken to sponge bob about this and if the problem is indeed the solenoid we have agreed to split the cost of it

A friend of mine had this and he cleaned the solenoid after stripping it down and the marker was then great...but this is not a job for the fainthearted and was a last resort before buying a new solenoid that paid off
