I did 4 360s over the 1st year since release my 3rd went 1 day before the 1 year warrenty ran out, my current one seems ok touch wood, all with the same red ring problem, nothing to do with battery packs on mine tho, I prefer wired controllers.
P.S Guitar Hero 2 is the greatest game on the 360 by some way atm, and im normaly a shootem up bloke

X-box is back when I got in the office... refurbed one with a different s/n... fingers crossed it ain't forked as well!!
Cook$ if your clamping down your wireless access to your router by MAC address as well as some form of encryption (WEP/WPA etc) you need to put the new mac address in of the machine you have had returned (assuming you got a different s/n one back then you sent off as I did). For some reason the mac address is of the actual x-box and not the wireless adaptor
