xbox 360 display problem?

that is what he must have been watching...
and he use to be a engeneer machanic or something along those lines, but im pritty sure this was befor electronics
so yer, i think he will be owing me a new xbox, just have to finishing running this one into the ground

e74 code - lifetime warranty

any other problem/malfunction 1 year warranty.

I had the same problem, it was out of warranty and was charged £60 for the repair, however i did get another years warranty within the price.

nothing more to be done now, other than wait untill it gives up and see what is actually wrong (rrod or not)

I know you posted this back in November, so this is probably all moot now. But it sounds like the early stages of a red ring of death. The Console is getting too hot and knocking itself out. Microsoft have already admitted to a variety of reason for this happening.
Check the serial and date number on the back, if it's within 3 years of console manufacture, then send it back and get a free box back with better internals (Jasper chip) and a fresh 3 year guarantee. Also, because of the increased number of RROD reports Microsoft have extended their warranty, but haven’t really made it public. (I've transferred 4 boxes out of warranty and got free replacements on all.
Don't open it, it's really not worth it and voids you getting any new boxes from Microsoft.

I sent my xbox off when i got a problem and cost me absoultly NOTHING!!!
They even come pick it up for you
