I don't design anything to be second best. I think you will always have some of those issues with dual pane lenses, but the tongue and groove around the outside of the Vents goggles helps to stop anything getting through to the lens. I believe our dual pane lenses are as good as JT's (or better) and I believe my single pane thermally cured lens is as good as V-Force (or better). You have to appreciate I have over a years work in this and am biased as hell, but if we aren't better out the gate... I promise we will be pretty damn soon. They've been in test for quite a while but you learn faster when you get more product out. I don't ever intend to be happy with second place in anything I work on. Hope that answers your question.Originally posted by TheBroz
I've already seen comments by yourself regarding offering consumers the choice of single and dual paned lenses, personaly after how awesome the single lenses for my Profilers have been I was wondering how the Vents lenses compare. Also, how do the dual paned lenses fair in respect to the constant problems i used to get with my JTs, where paint, rain or lense cleaner would get between the lenses and render them bodged.
Yes I have! and boy do I wish I could release those video's! but I think my competitors may lynch me. We put a whole halo at 20+bps into the goggle at 330fps from about 2 feet away... let's just say I'm happy wearing my goggles in those circumstances but wouldn't wear some of my competitors! The process we used involves much more expensive tooling and dual shots into the tool to make the goggle so the parts are actually fused together. This is far superior to some methods where one piece is made and then overmolded to get the second material... that tends to come apart far too easily. Ours do not. It cost us a lot to do it this way but... I'm a paintballer. I wouldn't put anything in front of my vision that wasn't the best I could make it.Originally posted by TheBroz
Also, a lot of the information about testing that demonstate the lense's ability to withstand balls traveling at increased velocity but has any tests been performed where the goggle has been subjected to multiple hits? I'm not the only one who's concerned by the firepower present in the modern game and would be curious to see how this equipment fairs against a representative simulation of a (Bowen vs Zoul type) mugging at 15bps.
I wore glasses when I first started designing these so I know the situation, and designed with glasses in mind. (I've since had lasik).Originally posted by TheBroz
PS. Microfibre material always perks a life-long glasses wearer's attention when it's mentioned. Yay for now wearing contacts.
Nope, a new team under the old name. I tried to make the goggles live up to the reputation of the old ones though. There are some great new features just like with the first Vents goggles.Originally posted by Fleisher
Dumb question, these the same people that made the Vents Predator mask ?
If it is I'm having a set,the Preds were 10 years ahead in the design and features.
