@Dave284
Update on Rosters, Tigers and Nexus CPL both showed up with 5 players, Tigers are missing both Milton and Wee Man, at the end of their second game Colby was banned, bringing their active roster down to 4 (DMT followed by swearing at a ref!).
Nexus CPL are really looking for their nearest rivals to do badly to hold on to their CPL spot, though the impossible can happen, they pulled of a win here last year against Polar Bears to keep them in CPL.
There seems to be a lot of dissolution with paintball in general amongst some of the older/more experienced players. Personally, I think this is a lot to do with the reduction of sponsorship and the need for players to dig deeper in to their own pockets. Personally I think their realising that, however much fame, infamy or notoriety they gain in this sport, it is never going to make them rich, or even put food on their tables.
I didn't get the chance to speak to Dave Baines today, I did have a brief chat with him yesterday, but on mostly un-paintball related topics. I will try and catch up with him tomorrow, I do hope he sticks around, I think that if Bart is willing he could saty on in the coaching role he has assumed for Impact this year.
The only Brit playing for FLC is Alicia, both the Emmas are absent, Shelly is of course playing for Poison Ivy,
Over on 'da Nation, the baying for the removal of Maurice from the webcast has apparently increased since the arrival of Matty! No comment.
Scores wise, I'm a little out of touch as I have been a bit removed from a lot of the UK games due to other commitments.
Disruption lost their game to 5-Star 4-1 but came back to destroy the Ducklings 4-0 by playing their signature aggressive style and I think have a good chance of making Sunday against CHP Ducks tomorrow.
Firm got a bye from the defunct Outcast and won their game against Ignition, and also stand a good chance with Ghost Paris as their opponents tomorrow.
Lucky 15s Won their game with Vision PPC 4-3 this morning then put the same scoreline up against Celtic Druids, they play Nexus 2 tomorrow, who are yet to post a win, going 2-4 with both the other teams.
Tigers 2 got battered by Razorback, but took 2 points of Lowlife, and as recounted I think before DV8 lost both their games today.
The real success of the day are the GB U19 squad, they went up first against The Netherlands of the SPL1 field, this was always going to be a difficult game as the Dutchlanders are basically Bad Boys Oss in differently logo'd jerseys, so used to playing together. GB lost the first three points and then turned it around with 4 scoring points in a row. Their second game was against Germany and resulted in a pretty quick and convincing 4-0 win before they went on to finish their group games against the Swiss, who by the end of the day mostly resembled pieces of their national cheese, having suffered a succession of 4-0 losses!
As for the introduction of the M500/600 limited paint format, no firm decision has been made as far as I can deduce, we will probably have to wait util some time in the off season for that. There are the inevitable rumours floating around of new venues and a 5ht event for 2016, but again, I have been unable to gather any firm Intel on this either, what I do suspect is that we probably won't know anything at all until after Christmas.
I'll see what I can find out tomorrow.
