I'm running both 32bit and 64bit

Also there are about 7 diffrent versions of windows 7. I'm running ultimate for testing and i've installed it for a friend who seems to be happy with it. There are a couple of compatability issue with older software\games but you should be able to get patches to fix em up.

It's allot faster than vista full stop and seems to recover from crashing better.

My dads bieng a meany. He told me that i cant have 7 (even though he has it!) because "theres not enough horses under the bonnet". Surely a dual 2.2ghz chip and two gigs or ram will be alright?

been running the full version of w7 64bit, for a while now. Upgraded from xp pro.

Zero issues. Other then a blue screen regarding my HDD but that was easily fixed and not to do with the O/S itself.

Min specs

1ghz
1gb ram (32 bit) 2gb ram (64 bit)
20gb of space
Dx9 compatable graphics card.
The Min Specs I've seen in a couple of places are:

• 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
• 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
• 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
• DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

The Notebook i would install on has

AMD Athelon 64x Dual Core 1.7GHz
4 GB RAM
Install will be on a fresh 250 GB hard drive, probably on a 60 GB partition
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics card

Has anybody got anything bad to say about this OS?

I installed it about 6 months ago and it wouldn't work with some of my games so I canned it for Vista as I've never had any problems with Vista, just downloading it now to try it again though.
I'm going to install the 64 bit version for the first time, I've tried to refrain from upgrading to 64 bit in the past due to compatibility issues with certain programs, but hopefully it should all be alright, I'd really like to utilise the 6GB of RAM I've got!
