Windows 7 Users Post Up

I have posted this in a few general forums to get a broad view and will be consulting some geeks I know, but those using MS's new OS please post up.

Especially if you are using the 64bit versions.

I am a very happy user of XP and really want to know if its worth the shift.
I did run Vista for a year until the phale wale swum in to my harbour and Vista did the dirty on me. I liked the way Vista looked and felt, but I prefer the solid reliability of XP.

Xp, reliability? what the hell have you been smoking?

Been running windows 7 for a few weeks (RC and RTM) and im very impressed with it, completely customisable, solid as a rock. Mine looks just like vista.. but better :D

Been using Windows 7 for about 4 months now :) RC 2 months + retail 2 months (don't start saying "cracked version" or anything, Tech Net subscribers get it in advanced :p )

Runs perfectly for me, only had a few blue screens but thats me messing about with a crafty bit of software. Goes just aswell as XP and sometimes even better, all the games ive thrown at it work fine.

Haven't really had any trouble with it so far, would defently recommend getting W7, shame im taking a Vista course in December and not a W7 one.

Been using it for about a week now, really nice interface in my opinion, nice and customisable, some useful apps (That side screen shaping thing, the ability to cut out parts of the screen to paste etc etc) [sorry for the bad descriptions ¬_¬ ] Has handled all of my steam games and more. S'all good in my books :)

I might add that I'm not going to be using this for gaming, mostly on a notebook for imaging programs, including CS4. The total failure of the pre-installed version of Vista to recover after a major crash ruined my confidence in the product. Before anybody mentions it, I'm loath to spend more than I can justify on a Crackintosh.

I am building a 64 w7 system at the moment. Hopefully will be completed this week maybe next if I am busy.

Tried RC in 32 mode very impressed, looks lovely and a hell of a lot more stable that Vista was at launch. So far not spotted any downsides but we will see when I have broken in my 64 system.

Running CS4 on mine on a SSD, its fantastic.

Also did some premiere pro edits today and also found it very snappy.

Running a 64 version of W7 for a few months now. Im only using the RC, which is basically a Beta (Or in Microsofts case, an Alpha). It is rock solid. Ive not crashed once, no blue screens, nothin. It feels like Vista on Nitrous oxide. Far more stable than XP, far less resource comsumption than Vista.

An all round piece of art :)

Windows 7 32bit RC being running since it was released on a test machine - now rebuilding my vista machine so as to put W7 64bit on that one. No blue screens or crashes of any sort.

Hey Pete

I have been running full release for about 2 months at work testing our software on in.

It has been A1 stable on me.

There have been a few programs that have yet to be ported over to 7 but these are always the small tools that i use.

Basically I would say go for it mate.

It is better than Vista in terms of being a resource hug too, it won't boot as fast as XP but once you are up and running its a pleasure.

If you need a hand sorting out you kit give me a shout mate.
