hhmm

Well,

I was thinking about this the other day 1992 a box of paint would cost you what £40ish, this is when we were using pump markers and using say 1000 paint per person per DAY, rough guide as a tournament player.

Now it's 2002 and most players are using electro, using around 1000 per GAME = 8000 per day.

So as the paintball companies make more paint to accomadate demand paint per box still costs roughly around the same.

Inflation....and they keep the prices the same, excellent....hold on, wait, that's not fair.

We use 800% more paint per day than we did back then.....reduce the price of paint ya mask wearing robbers that you are.

;)

On another note, let's look at paintball compared to say, Golf.

Top of the range golf clubs = £1500
Top of the range paintball kit = £1500

Playing fees per year = £300 roughly
Green Fees for a decent club = £500 and above

This is how I justify paintball to my Wife....

Wife "Sid I'm sick of the money you spend playing paintball"

Big Sid with can of lager in hand " Shut up Bit** or I'll go play golf"

Here endeth the lesson..............

You want an expensive sport to compare it against, try showjumping or any of the equestrian sports (thats horsey to the uneducated!).
Half reasonable horse, maybe county standard at best & definitely NOT national class - £20K
Other stuff like saddle, bridle, rugs, riders clothes etc - around £2k
Insurance for vets bills etc - About £500-£1k
Shoeing - around £40-50 every 5-6 weeks
Keep - anything between £25-150 per WEEK, depending on where you keep the animal
Regular injections & vets check-ups £50 per year
And that little lot is before you go anywhere & enter any competitions, & you have to pay it out week after week even if you can't compete for ages due to injury or something.
