I just dont get it people jumping off buildings is concidered more of a competitive sport than paintballing.
I just been reading the paper and aparently its being reconised as an official sport
and these people call themselves extreme athletes
there jumping off buildings or cliffs etc, you dont have to be an athlete to do that just have balls

There's a little more to BASE jumping than just jumping. But people can watch and understand it. You can follow what's happening and how people actually win.
There are so many spurious sports out there it's crazy.

YEah there is more to base jumping than that. Seems to involve alot of climbing etc just to get to your jump point.

Scuba diving is a sport and i'm a huge fan. Has no competative element though :)

I love scuba diving im a registered diver should do it more but like paintball can cost a bit in certain nice places
I mean i think a Sky channel should be created just for underated sports
including the Egg and Spoon Race lol
or favourites such as

According to pretty much ever dictionary paintball would be classed as a sport. Here are just 2 of the definitions of "sport" from dictionary.com:

1.Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
2.An active pastime; recreation.

Paintball (in any form) is NOT a recognised sport in the UK. In other words, it is not recognised by The Sports Council - and, therefore, isn't a candidate for any kind of government funding (or lottery funding either).

If The Sports Council do recognise it as a real sport - then it will have to fund it - hence the fact they don't (it would cost them money!).

Anyway, extreme ironing - now there's a sport women can dominate in :p.
