Why don't those tekno geeks make a marker with built in chrono?

Why??

You're still going to get Chrono'd at tourneys anyway, regardless of whether your marker has one built in or not, and that makes a built-in chrono a complete waste of money.

If you had a built in chrono, then surely it would make sense to then attach to your reg to do just that, regulate your fps. Possible but maybe a little too technical. Maybe the marker would have to built around this technology before bolt/breech/barrel/trigger as they would all have an impact on the end result.

Cool idea though.:)

No, a waste of time idea...

We are chrono'd now for safety reasons and because people cannot be trusted to set their own markers up to shoot below the required fps for any given tournement.. having a "built-in" chrono is not going to change that.

As for using them to control the reg you can, in my opinion, link it to the bolt/breech/barrel/trigger as much as you need to (personally I think if they do it they will link it to the dwell) but it should not be allowed on field as there is the potential for it to start firing hot during the game BY DESIGN if you are going to try and make the fps limit anywhere up near 300fps.

If you're not going to try and get it that high then what's the point in having it self-regulate? Most electro's these days seem to be within +/- 10fps so set the marker to 290fps, lock the reg, and leave it alone.

I can honestly see no reason for a chrono on a marker.

Well I think that's a great idea!

Don't give a feck about the tournament thing as like it's been said - it will/should be checked anyway.

But what about setting the gun up when there isn't a chrono about? I think it would be real handy to know you are shooting at the correct velocity (at training etc).

It would be especially useful when setting up a gun for the first time, which in my case is about once a month :D

Ok..

The question is would you pay extra for it...?

Bearing in mind how much chrono's cost I reckon at least £50-75 on the price for a the chrono.. without the self regulating stuff...

One possible use

Take your built-in chrono and transmit the signal to a centralized receiver (for, say, X-Ball) and you no longer have to chrono period. Guns are self-regulating and info immediately available so should any marker go out of compliance the player can be pulled and the fps for each live player posted on the big scoreboard.

Cheers for the response, baco good idea, would be easier, and gudges could see what every marker was doing in a game, to show that players ain't taken tools on the field,or have tampered wiv the gun during a game.
