Well, to be honest, I don't see what you're getting at. I guess it's just me thinking that it's a board that control the rate of fire of a gun eh; Silly me. I must learn how a Shocker works eh.
The shocker and the nerve are two different markers, and overall marker design makes a huge difference in the overall performance of a marker, not just the board. The board fine tunes and times the other parts.

I don't agree with John on the angel point, I always thought the nerve was jsut a reincarnation of the impulse, and I don't actually think theres much difference in speed between, the impulse/shocker/nerve if upgraded to 05 specs in certain areas.

You can find great info on both markers at http://www.zdspb.com/tech/index.html

hehe I was actually being sarcastic on the point about needing to know more about the marker itself... I know a Shocker like the back of my hand, pretty much.

That is true. But the Nerve board is capped (I think) at whatever speed, and will not exceed that (like the Vision board) I may be wrong on that, but I don't think I am. And no matter what you'd do to either a Shocker or Nerve you won't break the capping.
The board is just like the CPU in a computer... No matter what you'd do to it you won't break the speed it's set at.

I'm no expert, but I recall reading that spool valved guns are inherently slower than poppet valve designs. As it works out though they both shoot fast enough (TonTons shockers especially;) )

You can overclock the processer in a PC, like you can re-programme a marker board should you have the skills, but if you have sheet ram/bus speed, it will limit your output just like having a sheet valve would.

They limit your board because the other parts can't keep up with it dude, and the boards go's too fast for the moving parts.

Or we'd all have intel chips with massive clock speeds.

hehe I was going to put 'excluding overclocking' in brackets... I wish I'd put that now :) Plus it was the only example I could think of :( Errr... What about; digital cameras are only as fast as their processor? :D

Heh. :D

The speed at which they write to the memory card is a lmiiting factor in digital cameras, I guess shutter open/close speed has something to do with it as well.

Nowadays very little is limited by procesing power, after all you could stick dual processers on a marker board if that was the case have double the RoF. Now that would be sweet.

A Shocker wont go down on you every 5 mins if you look after it...
Remember: The more you lube it, the better it fires ;)

i've had both and theres + & - for each .. why the price difference .. err more metal ? :)

the nerve uses the same board as the shocker so theres no capping, fast yes. heavier, a little. easier to look after, oh yes. easier to clean if you get a breach break, oh yes.

swings and roundabouts, pays your money takes your choice. i think fashion and trends play a massive part, if a few pro teams had taken them up in anger then it would have started the shiney me want, look at angels a few years back, then timmy's, now the ego is must have ..
