Why do you play?

we spent most of yesterday moaning about the state of our local site, whilst re-bulding the speed ball pitch.

as said before, we bitch because we love, if we comment about the bad stuff it getts better, and then we have more fun.

I play 'cus I know I'll pwn my non-baller friends whenever they venture to a field to play woodsball for their birthdays.
But seriously, it's for that endorphine and epinephrine (thats adrenaline to the lay-person) hit. Sure beats being chased by a dog, an angry chav gang or being shot at by a shotgun wielding farmer (though I reckon I'd take the lot on with a hopper of re-balls, lol)
And the gear is pretty cool. Always a talking point to wear my playing pants or gloves when out and about, or the full monty when playing some (shock-horror) 'normal' sport.

my team mates. my boys. my friends. plane trips and road trips. squeezing 10 people into an apartment with 5 beds. waking up in the morning and having to step over random team mates sprawled across the floor. flip flops and too much San Miguel. the team huddle. the adrenaline rush. the anger. the joy. playing off their moves. chilling out on balconies. team fights. the players party. the smiles. the new faces. the old faces. the group hugs. the bonding. the drills. the fight. the rewards.

its the thrill, especially, the 1st "GAME ON", its an adrenaline rush.

SO TRUE! and it's got to be when your team mates are expecting you to make it to the 50 every other game!

Playing/being sponsored at a site where the owner treats you like a mate certainly helps you WANT to be interested, then you get the basics, get the banter, get the gear, get the gun, get the team, get the glory and then you wonder why the hell you didn't "get it all" years ago!

I play because i love the Adrenaline rush , i love waking up early on saturday and packing my kit ready for the day ahead.I love the whole atmosphere of setting up when you arrive at the field.I love anaylsing fields and making the right choices when you run for cover or you freight train the opponents which leaves them in excrutiating pain.I love when my mates get involved as well as the fun and enjoyment of a day out of the house instead of sitting at home sitting on here
However it does eat ya wallet pretty bad if ure a student! i.e me!
