Why do you need a Beaver Tail on a Cocker?
Where in the millen. rules does it say that you must have it?

Thumbing the rod

Remember those little cap things that slipped over the rod and had a piece of elastic that went round your thumb. And they say cheationg is a new thing in paintball.

Ummm...I'd like to see you try "thumbing" any of those open bolt guns...come on, I'll even pay you to try, I'll even make it easier for you and pull the trigger for you...

With a 'cocker it's easier to thumb 'cause you can short-stroke the trigger so that you only release the hammer, you don't activate the back block...you can, it's just easier if you don't. Also, you have that flat back of the cocking rod to rest your thumb on. "Thumbing" is usually only a single shot affair, but if you're into abuse, and you have good timing, you can keep your thumb on the cocking rod. I'd like to see you do that on a 'Timmy.

Ok. Use one hand to pull the trigger and the other hand to thumbing the pin.
I'm going to film it this weekend.
You can give me a Halo thanks.

:)
Yes, but do you really get a significant velocity increase? If you push too hard too soon, you just push the bolt forward and get nothing 'cause you cover the air passage. You have to time your push so that you don't cover the air passage too soon (dwell) on an open bolt gun. Plus, it's awkward trying to push that small, flat pin (on a Timmy). The whole purpose for Thumbing is to increase your distance so you can accurately hit someone that you normally couldn't. With a 'cocker, it's a closed bolt gun with the bolt held back mechanically so you can, without anyone really noticing, place your thumb on the cocking rod, press really hard, fire the gun accurately, and hit the guy you were aiming at.
Go ahead and thumb your open bolt gun, and I'll probably just shoot you out as you try to hit a teammate :) as you wonder why your balls fall at your feet.
