I have to say that this is all a bit ridiculous and as a major sponsor of the Pro Tour I can only apologise for the total mishandling of this event!!!
If the teams that have been told to play the Pro Tour dont want to, then make a stand and say no. Your paying and you should be the ones making the choice about what format you want to play.

From speaking to syd yesterday he said that all the teams had been asked so i can only assume it hasn't filtered down to the players of each team yet!
Fair play to syd for letting teams have the option as the pro tour is seperate from his tourney ! I also don't think anyone has been forced to play it !
just to confirm Cleats will defo not be allowed ! It's the venues rules same for the footy players. Chaple gate r very protective over there facilities!
But it's such an ace venue it's worth it!

If we'd had a little more than 3 days notice we might have been a little more accomodating when told we were playing the Pro Tour... as we have only just found out I don't think we could be prepared in time to do it. Its a totally different format, how are we expected to play to our best when we've never even trained the format?
Personally I'd rather play the normal HG and get the points that way.

I'm sure you get my point when I say, we need the points from HG to go towards getting into the Pro Tour, so we don't want to play a format we've never even discussed as a team and found out about 3 days before the event to do that?
I'm not blaming Syd for this btw, I personally believe that Syd is probably one of the best tourney organisers we have in the UK, but he can only go with what he is told, and if he's given duff information by people he can't help it.
