Yeah....and ions suck.....
dude have you ever shot one , i mean like properly used one in a tourney, these guns are very reliable and can rip the paint out no probs. light weight accurate. i also think the matrix's are very good as i used to own a proto with a virtue board which ripped but very heavy, but still nice gats. just thought your ions suck was a bit harsh mate. the guy was only asking advise. l8r

Well personally, if money is no worry, i would pick whichever one I was most comfortable, I've shot some amazing proto's, and ive shot some **** ones too, i have to admit i personally do not like Ions, although hats off to smart parts for releasing the marker (it is good.) I just dont like the feeling of them. Rather than ask advice as to which one to get, I would shoot both, and then present the question such as "I can snap shoot great, but dont like the trigger on this gun, and I can walk the trigger and snap shoot, but the guns quite heavy." This way, you can get a gun thats good for you, i shoot an impulse, not because I think its the best gun, but because its the one I perform best with.

matty's right. its not about having the fastest marker in the world if you cant use it to its full potential as it dont feel right for you. its all about finding whats best for you. personally i know i still havnt found the right marker for me which is why im trying out.

ive shot both and my personal opinion is that the matrix is a better feeling gun and nicer to use in general but you cant beat an ion on value

but thats just me

Ever hear dof Jim Frensham? Ex five man world champ as i'm told and he shoots an ion. If you have the money to buy a Proto matrix, you can buy an Ion and pimp it, so it'll shoot faster than the matrix and be a lot lighter for the same money. Give Jim at Warped a call, I hear he's doing Ions at £150 now, how cheap do you want? plus you get a course on how to maintain it and servicing free for a year i think if anything goes wrong. sounds good to me. pick up you freak kit while you're there and a new asa and you're laughing. He mmight even have a virtue board for you....
