Like everyones been saying- it's your choice. Ego and DM5 would be a lot less hassle because there's no immediate need to upgrade them, if you'd rather get an ion and upgrade then do so, it just takes more time and money. I'd go for the Ego or DM5 but its up to you to decide which one you like better.

but having only shot the ion and ego i can only say that the ego was better because it was faster had better accuracy looked nicer and was lighter in my opion

I've got one of these, rips straight out of the box, no need for upgrades and is the most light and reliable gat I've ever shot, well worth considering.

id take the ion, ego's and dm's are undoubtadely *sp* good markers.. but ions are awesome for a start up marker, especially with the ups you can get for it..
a guy that posted before me made a good point, with up'ing your ion you learn from it and can take that knowledge and use it when you choose to get a more expensive marker at a later date
