Going there tomorrow (11th Aug) for my first ever walk-on, can anyone tell me where it is? I know it's near Birmingham, I just don't know EXACTLY where it is.

And if you're going, I'll be the one in brand new JT nForcers and staring down the wrong end of the gun.

Ah dude, I see you're in MK, I'm in Northampton. You got wheels? Maybe when you get your kit sorted out we can hook-up and go up to NPF. There's also a place in St Albans we can hit.

Alls I'm missing now from my kit is decent gloves and knee/shin pads. Don't buy Rhino gloves - I got them and the material inside leaks dye when you sweat, I came off a paintball day with my fingers jet black!!

Most new gloves do that stickboy, my Dye ones did it, but they stop once you wash them, so my advice stick em in the machine.........problem solved :D

Yeah, Ive just bought some gloves from smartparts, (The ones with "Wicked" written on them) they are really comfortable too which is nice. I just need to get everything else now :) im going to buy the gun last tho. Im having some cashflow problems so getting stuff is proving a bit slow.
Do you know of any shops in our area? I need to go look at some stuff

Certainly a can-do on hooking up to go ballin', I have a car that is basically mine & I dont mine doing a bit of driving, My mates aren't as interested in paintball as me so having someone else to go with whould be helpful, (Dont want to look like Nobby-No-Mates do i!!)

Just come back from Bassett's Pole, my first time there and it was bl00dy sweet! Mucho respect to Keiron Mooney for gun advice, and to the two young lads Chris and Daniel for befriending a noob.

Unfortunately there are no shops local to us Fubar, seems the nearest is going to be either the one on-site at NPF (sells Tippmanns and accessories) or one Keiron mentioned to me - Warped Sports in Dudley).

The next time I see myself going back up to NPF is the last Sunday in Sept as I'm away on the second Sunday, but I'm gonna get membership as it's a better all-round deal for own-gunners. (£25 for 1 year, entrance to site £12.50 and 3p per ball).

I'll be posting on this forum in the meantime tho, my next step is gun upgrades, so I'll be picking peoples brains.

Do we live in a Paintball Shop Vacuum or something? that just means that Smartparts will be getting more of my cash :)
Sounds like you had fun at BP, I will have to get up there sometime.
Is the end of sept their next walkon? I dont know if I can get stuff by then, but im trying to get up & running asap (Money Permitting)

What gun do you have? i cant decide whats a good place to start.

Dude, Paintball is a mere whisper on the breeze in our part of the country :(

I went for a Tippmann, mainly based on opinions posted on the paintball newsgroup (rec.sport.paintball I think) and from www.countypaintball.com

The main things that influenced me was the rugged build - apparently you can run one on low maintenance - and the upgradability and the low cost. My other option was to go for a Spyder Aggressor, but I got a pretty decent deal on the Tippmann (gun, hopper and 20oz bottle for £150 inc VAT and shipping from www.dangerzone.com)

I was pretty impressed by Ciaran's (sorted my spelling out!) Impulse, so may look at one of those in the future. A good starting place to look is www.ukpsf.com under their equipment page, that lists all the places in the UK that sell kit.

Cheers for the links, Im looking through them as I speak.
How much was the shipping from County Paintball? cos I noticed they are an american site.
I tried to order some gloves from DYE in the US and they wanted to charge me $35 for shipping! needless to say I said no!

I was looking at some variety of Spyder as a first gun, or an Inferno T3, ive seen a few sites with nice deals on those.
