Try "Big Sid" - Sandy Hubbard. He's in Escaramouche and the Cameronians and often has some second-hand team gear on offer. Got a cheap phantom from him - needed some work but it's running like a dream now. Plus he's a top bloke. He's listed on these boards and I think both teams have websites that Google should find.
If you can get to a tourney near you, there's also lots on offer - many of the people selling on the classifieds thread will be at them, and you get the chance to try out the stuff, get their advice and comments, and meet some very nice people too (as well as watching some games!).
