At a pure guess... Could the patent issues being resolved between the 3 giants WDP, DYE and Smart Parts resulted in all 3 companys coming together and actually spending their money's for a common cause, 'A prime time TV Deal'

With the press release about the companies resolving their patent issues and the hints about paintball being on TV the only logical thing I can come up with is the above. To me it would make sense, cos at this rate if the paintball community doesnt start growing at a fast rate these companies will start losing out on gun sale's....
