It depends what you look at what the software causes. If you mean the software itself, then no it doesn't harm the computer. However, throwing the computer out of your bedroom window because there are so many bloody pop-up windows, that you can't do anything...that sort of causes some damage. Basically the software works to create pop up windows, either by using your input, or just randomly opening pages.
