Legal? Don't know. Requires a trigger pull to initiate each shot so I don't see why not.
May be funky looking but it shoots as advertised. Back block moves so fast its like humingbird wings in flight--you see it throughout its range of motion but blurry.
Got to say, why buy an Evo and get the Nexus upgrades, I have done this many times myself, at the end of the day its always cheaper to buy a Nexus. (2nd hand prices are very nice)
My black DC Nexus is currently awaiting its new E2 frame.
so whats a fastback? why is it better? why doesnt everyone have a mini cocker as i thought light weight was a major asset, and i realy like the internal cocking bits of the karnivor is there anyway to change a normal cocker to this?
Fastbacks are cockers that have had the top tube cut off (often right up to the feedneck or thereabouts). The backblock slides ontop of this, which the bolt is connected to. The hammer will have a groove milled into it, and the cocking rod is attached to the backblock, which pulls it back.
SOrry for the vagueness, but there are several variants (turtle, half-block, fastback) and they all use slightly different menthods.
Don't think you can change a normal cocker to a Karnivor style, but maybe wrong.
Fastbacks are cut down cockers, www.turtlecockers.com have been doing these for ages. Is smaller and lighter and there is no chance of a back block smacking you in the gogs.
For most players weight isn't crucial as add a full tank and hopper and a few oz's off the body means nothing. Mostly its about looks. Do you like the look of the Karnivor, Nexus, Evo. Personally I like the way the back block is cut from the body in the Eclipse markers and the Evolutions. All down to choice.
ok so what are the benefits of each of the halfbacks fastbacks and turtles and in what way are they different? and if i understand this right, wouldnt a mini e class orracle fastback be possibley the fastest shooting and most pointable markers about? whats the word on the karnivor it looks great on paper and sweet on video but ive been hearing rumors of poor reliability.
oh and thanks everyone for your feedback, i and im sure many other new comers will find this thread very helpful.
