Dk, Paintball mirrors life, in that petty animosities and agendas will always surface at some point mate, we just gotta deal with them when they do.
I don't know the real reason why hatts did start that particular attack on me, even after talking to him about it I am still pretty much in the dark but hey, people sometimes do some stooopid things.

UK Paintball is no doubt in some confusion and has a certain lack of direction but most of our problems seem to stem from an almost abject indifference the consensus has when it comes to gettin serious.

Direction will come from above, it comes from aligning ourselves with what's out there in terms of the Millennium / NPPL / PSP.
Once that has been done, we can get down to the job in hand of organizing ourselves within that regime.
In my opinion, hatt's flaw was trying to go it alone and even more flawed was the way he negotiated Paintball's existing politics minefield, he needed to make friends, not estrange people.
I had quite a long talk with hatts at Wrexham and I am more than willing to let it all slide but I ain’t gonna forget what was done, and that’s where things stand now.
I’ll do whatever I see fit for UK Paintball and he I’m sure will do what he sees fit.

LOL - oh come on Duff, there's never a dull moment in that employ and anyway, I am getting a lot more placid in my dotage which means a lot less phone calls on the Monday morning calling for my head....

it doesnt offend me (im not that easily offended:D) i just dont like the fact that the arguments happen in the first place - i dont want to come across all peace and love bollox but surely in fighting just slows down the process of getting paintball to where i think most of us want it to be - i could of course be wrong.

i know people are going to argue about anything, anywhere in any sport but is UK paintball in the position that people can afford to side swipe each other instead of working together .

man im even making myself feel sick .

blood,blood,blood ;)
Actually, it's a good thing peopl, and particularly figureheads, go head to head at times. Just happen to have finished some rather interesting studies on the matter.

In short, a forced keeping of the peace, as in just avoiding conflict for the sake of keeping things normal, won't do any one any good. It is how the status quo is maintained and will get you nowhere.
However, it is conflict which truly inspires the human spirit. It inspires us to outdo ourselves, just to outdo the other. But what is a far more important effect, is that it creates boundaries. It outlines territories and values. Simply put, it is what establishes the pecking order. If nobody gets to the top of the pecking order, because nobody dares to get involved in the fight, nobody eventually will excel and therefore no clear leaders and figureheads will exist. Sure, several people will strive to be the "alpha male", but eventually it will become quite clear who is the real top dog and who is most likely to lead the way to advancement. So these clashes between important (either true or perceived) personalities in our sport will eventually lead to improvement a lot faster than the Walt Disney approach of love, peace and frozen yoghurt.

So next time Pete and Hatts meet, I suggest they kick eachother in the shin. Or something.
