Ok following on from my thread about my Angel AIR being UK legal I have now found that the reg wasn't attached in any serious way (probably for shipping purposes) But I would like to know the best way of attaching it to the bottle, if I just hand screw it on will that be ok or should I loktite it? If I need to use loktite then where and how much should I apply?

Morning Rob, from earlier threads and my experience the angel air should only be screwed on hand tight, no additional fixings like loctite are required.
I know this sounds wierd, with all that pressure, but that's what keeps it tight, apparently.

I know its a different system, but my Maxflow and bottle is only hand screwed in. Its also useful to be able to screw the bottle off in case of over zealous customs officals at airports!

I don't think there are any air systems that should have the bottle loctited to the reg! Screw it on nice and tight, fill it gently the first time out and voila, she ain't coming off in a hurry!

I had the misfortune to get supplied a screw in system with the reg loctited on, and then had to change the bottle.
Great fun, had to clamp the regs fill nipple in a vice and then use a whole lot of force on the bottle to make it unscrew.

Not fun, not good for the threads either!

the thing that keeps the bottke on is the fact that the pressure pushes against the threads, making it almost impossible to unscrew while it has any kind of pressure in it.

Just try unscrewing it now, and next time you have a nearly empty bottle (100 psi or less) try unscrewing it, it wont work with pressure in it!
