It's a real shame about OTE, it used to be a good laugh with a load of really sound guys & girls playing the walk-ons. I think Planet just offloaded the site 'coz it was getting really scabby and they couldn't be arsed to invest any time or money in it.

To give the new owners some credit, they are trying, some new game areas have been opened up, but the main bugbear for me is how it costs top dollar to play there and you get next to nothing in return. I fully understand how the new owners have to make money before they can put it back into the site, but who's going to play at a site that gives poor air fils, sells cack paint for top prices (and don't allow BYO any more), and gets poor turnouts because of the aforemantioned problems?

It's like the other one I last went to at SWAT on the Wirral, not a bad site, but the day ran at a snails pace so bythe time we got started I was bored sh*tless and already wanted to pack up & go home. As well as the safety being a joke, I mean, goggles off in the playing area? Come on guys, that's newbie stuff and asking for trouble.

I've not been to Frontline yet, but I do mean to in the near future, it always gets good write ups on here.

I still really miss the walkons at Skirmish Nottingham, f*** me that was always a top day's balling.

Is there a drought of regular walkon players in the NW? Is that why we're struggling to get good places to play? I appreciate there are some good sites, butI for one don't want to play at the same one all the time, need a bit of variety.

Jesus that went on a bit, soz!

I think OTE and Congleton lost it's appeal when Chris left Planet. He used to run the days there - and they were excellent - especially the Bedlam series ;).

I even managed to shoot Ledz a few times at the last one I played :D.

The site pretty much died when the new owners stopped BYO. Who, in their right mind, will go to a walk on and pay more than £25 a box?

Do Wrexham, Marchweil, still do sup'sir walk-ons? Not seen or heard from Gogger for ages...
