things looked good , bright sun well that as good as it got.
chroney limit of 280 ?????"why, fileds may of only had 16 /17 barricades on but lobbig your balls was a problem.
one team came and left, and i am supprised a lot more did not.
what normally is a awesome tourny, didnt live up to past events,
19 teams , two divisions and on the whole some naff marshalling, but with some good bits thrown in to show us what we were missing.
all the teams i saw played awesome.
but and its here i lose the words to explain, but i will try.
it seems thuis tourny was going back 3/4 years when organisers could get away with poor tournys and charge high prices,
this is only my opinion and i would think not only mine but this does not represnt my teams view.
come on bully what has happened??????concerned baller

Stop Moaning!

It's not Bullys fault that only 20 teams booked in to this round(and two teams dropped out last minute) give him a break!

I've learnt over the many years of playin' ball that you have to make the best of what you've got and adjust to suit.

Aggreed, there were'nt enough bunkers on both the airball fields, We ended up walkig the fields in the morning, sorting our game plan then 20 minutes later we find out that they had taken 2 bunkers off the zap field:eek: (back centers) And that arena ball style field was ok but didnt like all the spray!

Another thing I've learnt is that you carnt slag off the marshalls unless you actually win the tournament, Because if you lose then you are just lookin' for excuses! You need to step your game up and rise above, you shouldent depened on marshalls decissions to win you your games, I just keep shooting at players now till they put their hand up(or on their head), and if they play on against me they will get some love:D :D :D

Lets be honest would you rarther sit at home and twiddle your thumbs, did'nt think so!

The morale is if you dont like it then dont play it simple! have a training day or something! Just keep your dummy in the pram and dont upset your sponsors!

Peace out.

DUDE YOU MIS-UNDERSTAND

if i was whining then yes you could have a go,
but it was a comment from a individual who has seen better from the 2005 series and seen worse.
i think a bit of black and white reading of the marshall situation has gone on
but hey if you can say you were happy with it , it's your opionion, everyone is entitled to it.
but hey were you at the same tourny,
i think any suggestion of sour grapes is totally underfounded and just show's that a sensible discussion may not be possible
but hey chill

concerned baller

just a quick point are you supporting over kill.
"I just keep shooting at players now till they put their hand up(or on their head), and if they play on against me they will get some love "

it's not overkill if they have not called themselves out. They are still live until they show they are otherwise, so you are perfectly right to keep shooting.

Exactly, thats why in both games I played vs. Kellys (DV8's/Phenoix final) I drill each one till they did just that, case of just giving back what you recive.

Personally I though the venue was "OK", with a nice staging area and such, it was just the feilds that were alittle "different" but was a nice change and still made for a good event. Marshalling, in the heat, you can understand mistakes, although event with 7+? marshalls on a feild players were still losing loads of hits and such infront of the crowd too the sound of cheer's , ohh then you had people shooting from the dead box......

Anyhow I'll still be playing next month as always, so it wasnt that bad :D

angel,

i totally agree with everything you have said. A good day apart from some very odd reffing decisions!

I think the thing that rounded off that day, was when a player in the opposing wiped a hit in front of a marshall. The marshall called it a wipe, and then put the player back in the game!!!:mad:

When we asked for an explanation of this, the marshall said to us, that, and I quote "he expected that of B division players." I thought wiping was quite a serious offense when playing paintball and entails penalties!?! But then what would I know, I was playing the in the B division....

ive gotta say being a marshall is the worst job in the world we were doing our best in baking heat on what i thought were terrible fields

but its wierd how its always the loseing teams who complain about the marshalling

thanks to the majoritie of the teams who thanked us for doing a great job

basically what im trying to say is its human nature to make mistakes and we cant see everything so give us guys a break

anyway its back to playing next month for us, yey

will (marshall of the day) lol

I totally agree that its human nature to make mistakes. The incident that I highlighted was not however a human error, as it was obviously seen by the ref. So how you can explain his actions, I do not know. All I know is that it was wrong!

Also, I'd like to point out that not all the marshalling was bad. I can think of a lot of good calls I saw on the day by the refs :), not only against the opposing teams we played, but also calls made against my own team. The problem was, the many bad calls made by a few individuals, that over shadowed the others! And Im not just refering to calls made when we were playing, but also on the games that we were watching from the sidelines too.

So its not just about being on a team that didnt win the event, Im saying this on behalf of all those who had strange/unfair/dodgy calls made against their teams, whether they be winners or losers.
