Fleisher my version won't be on sale, it's a super custom just for me :)

Hmm I might be interested in that Sterling STP you have in the atic... I collect guns (just picked up a Golden Eagle :) hehehe) hmm I'd be tempted to convert it to a sterling stock class just to amuse the yanks when I go over there...

so if you want to let it go, e-mail at manike@corin.com

The phantom semi electro (first shown over here in 97? ) was one of the first electros (and also never made it to production unfortunately, it was clever and recocked when it heard the sound of the previous shot!) but Liz wins the prize.

Dave Galsworthy was working on an electro semi Sterling before any of the others (rumoured to be powered by 2 9volt batteries). But no-one liked the idea  so it was canned. The next version had the valve in the grip frame... and was canned before he eventually made the 'Autosovereign' :D By that time the hype was over and the Sovereign wasn't very successful by Sterling standards.

Don't forget they used Black Widows before the Stirlings! They used to win everything because they were just sooooo d@mn good, plus their opposition didn't really have anything better, the Stirling STP was state of the art for those days - ever tried playing with the old Brass Eagle pumps? They were a total nightmare & weighed a ton compared to the STP.

Ahh reminiscing (sp?)...

Nightmares and barracuda's... back when pumps took serious effort!

LB pirahna used to be my weapon of choice! on liquid co2 :)

And then the Golden Eagle or 'aircraft carrier' and it's little brother 'poison' which never worked for a whole hopper of paint!

So what prize do I win? The reputation of being the saddest dinosaur paintballer on the boards tonight ;)

I mainly know some of this stuff 'cause it was the Preds that introduced me to paintball so if it relates to them I might remember it. I didn't start playing tourney myself until the advent of the semis. And yes, my first marker was a Marcus special Mag - exactly the same as the Preds were using at the time except mine was a minimag 'cause I'm left handed & it had the feed the other side to a standard mag.

I had an original 'ProMag' :) number 271.

I still have one of the straight rifled J&J barrels that Marcus was supplying.

Actually a very good barrel. I have one I'm going to get recut to cocker threads :)

Liz,didn,t the Preds use Lapco Grey Ghosts at one time?,and yes they were awesome I had my arse kicked by them on many occasions:mad: .

Manike don't know what I`d want for this Sterling, though all this talk off stock class makes me want to give it one last chance(sucker or what?).Looks like I`ll be getting my C+C at AGD then, mind you Sosta needs the money!
One last thing where did you get your Eagle,`cos I've got one too,to this day I don't know why I bought it,its got a nice Crossman stock on it and I polished all that Grey/Violet anodising off it! ,ah the folly of youth:) Its very shiny though(still) and it still cycles/shoots ...but not very well:eek:

I got the Eagle from Buddha 3!

maybe we should crank them both up and go play a walk on day just for laughs. We'd get some funny looks that's for sure!

The Eagle is the first semi I ever used :) that's why I got one and because it's cool/funny.

They never were that reliable but such fun to shoot!

rancid

Mother, is that you?
Hey, ain't had time to catch up on this thread yet... so apologies if you've already said this... are you sure that the electric version wasn't the Legend? Nicky Chappel's gun. I saw it once, round the back of a pig shed at mayhem. The gun was quite good as well. ;)

As for Promags.... I'll beat you all on this. I had one of the first ten, serial number... wait for it....wait for it.... 007!

And, go on, I'll go for my hat trick... the Preds used Razorbacks.

How's that then?

Right, I'll raise you for ten.... who introduced the BE90 and what was its main feature?

See, we could have our own section... you know, for the four of us.:)

Starting to leave me behind now boys, I was just a pot biatch back in those days (though I do remember the Razorbacks now you've mentioned them).
Naturally my minimag is promag'd, as all the Pred ones were & as Marcus knew that people would know he'd supplied me with mine it had to rock. That marker is still going strong now though converted to air - coming to as S2002 tourney near you soon in the hands of one of the other Chicks. First tourney I played was with Marcus's own mag thought, the one with "Mucus" on the side. Oh, & I've still got one of those "predator" barrels Marcus used to sell as well, though it never ever went as well as the Dac I got with the gun.

Right - time to cheat now, just phoned my friend who used to play for the Preds in the early days. Here's the chronology of the Preds & their guns:

Started out on Splatmasters (Trevor still has his somewhere in the attic)
Moved on to a mixture of Carters, Phantoms & Bushmasters which were slowly replaced by Nelsport internals with Airtech bodies
Then came the Razorbacks (the Black Widows were the uprated version of these, which they moved on to) - these were their first sponsored guns.
Then to the Stirlings (again, Trevor still has his around & no, he won't sell it)
Then on to the Mags, then Cockers.

No Fleisher, they never had Grey Ghosts as team guns though a couple of them owned them.

And Trevor might well be interested in having some fun playing pump/stock class, so that's another old dinosaur to invite when you lot get it together!
