It seems to me that all of the retards are being banned.

Beware the bullet points

1--Forgive me for asking, but it seems like so many people are getting banned for breaking silly rules,

2--and sometimes for no reason with the DTOTW being a kind of forum game. The point is it all seems a waste of time on the part of the mods with their new toys,

3--and isn't really helping the p8ntballer community by chucking people out instead of bringing them in.

4--Banning may be funny the mod and sometimes the rest of us, but if someone is supporting the forum by way of membership or adding their opinion, reading the sponsor's adverts and so on, it's not very positive to go round banning those people for stepping slightly out of line.

5--Fair enough WGP4Life seemed a bit of a tit and may have deserved his ban, and over at PBNation there is a lot of bans, but they are usually for racism, bullying or flame wars.

6--I doubt the likes of Darkstranger, Magic_8ball etc, need to be shown the power of the mod's banstick when deleting a post or thread with a warning would be just fine.

7--but that's just my '2p

edit: i'm going to classifieds to find me a life.
While Mario has already addressed this I have a slightly different point of view so thought I would respond, not so much for Cusack, but on the educated assumption there are others just like him out there--because I know there are. We've been thru this situation numerous times before, too.

1--rules, silly or otherwise, exist for a reason. In the case of our rules they exist to create a forum environment we hope is distinct and different from most of the others.
2--again, your failure to recognize the purpose of DTOTW doesn't mean there isn't one--because there is. If you really care think about it and maybe it will come to you.
3--we are helping the P8ntballer community by maintaining the type of forum our regulars have become used to and (for the most part) appreciate.
4--since you're not the one deciding what is slightly or otherwise out of line your opinion is irrelevant. Get used to it. Besides, unless you are a Plat you ain't supporting squat and anybody, registered or not, can visit and hit an advertiser's link.
5--I see, it's okay to ban a guy YOU think deserves it but not anybody else. I'll be sure to check with you next time.
According to you racism, bullying and flame wars receive most of the PBN bans. So where's the routine racism, bullying and flame wars around here? Could it possibly be that our silly rules keep most of that stuff from happening in the first place? D'oh!
6--Do you have any clue as to how many deleted threads and warnings have been given? Answer: not a clue.
7--not even. :)

Since i was made mod I have only banned 2 users, both for life but still only 2.

One was a spam robot and the other lil wenlock for abusing other members via pm .

What Mario said is true we are on the forum a bit more than some of the other mods and we have taken some of the workload off them and therefore the mods seem to be more active.

We all have differant approaches to moderating for example i give warnings via pm whilst Mario and the mighty Baca administer smackdown on the threads.

Follow the rules and you need not fear us,transgress and Buddha3 with be unleashed:eek:

the difference is gassy's education schemes actually work compared to tonies however - just look at those crumps that joined recently - under tonys scheme they learnt **** all and couldnt spell, now after gassy had words they spell pretty well

The mods have a sense a humour, that's the real thing. Sure it's a cynical twisted one, but then that worked for Bill Hicks (RIP).

As Baca rightly said, we don't get the flame wars etc etc because mods are (generally) on top of things and don't allow stuff to happen in the first place and create a culture that people appreciate. For a forum with our number of users and posts I think we do pretty well.

If you saw the mods log on here you'd see that every day there's about 75 entries from our guys deleting threads, cleaning them up, changing titles on request, name changes and all sorts. That's the stuff people don't see that keeps things ticking over and meaning that we can all have a bit of fun when it comes to it.

We also don't take ourselves too seriously. If we did it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable.

Drinking and moderating. A must do.

The tone of haughtiness that runs throughout my last post is brilliant.

'who the fu*k are you to...?' I near pissed myself reading it again today.

Baca and Beaks explain it much better than i could ever do.

dskize - damn straight...
