RAC FTW!

Helped me out a few times with the piece of crap that is my automobile.

I got mixed response times from about half hour to 2 and a half hours, but they keep you well informed of whats going on.

My wife had to use greenflag this week and they were out to her in less than half hour, a couple of years ago we were left for 3 hours in a frost by the AA with 4 kids and a dead motor, hence switching to greenflag:)

I used to use the AA, broke down in middle of feb last year, snow everywhere, because it was apparently a code red day, basically busier than usual and i was in no danger I had to wait 4 1/2 hrs for them to turn up, after i had told them the problem and just bring a recovery truck. Did they listen, no, small van turns up trys to fix the problem (snapped cam belt). Then had to wait another hour for the recovery truck to take me the 265miles home, which took 10hrs, after three truck changes because the drivers were all out of time on their tacho's. Highly pissed off, phoned AA didnt even get a appology, I was freezing all day, and it didnt help the heater in the first recovery truck wasnt working either, just to top it off.

The aa will allways send someone to look at it first before they try to recover they did that to my works van and when the guy turned up he said he could do a tempory fix but it would take nearly 3 hours i just told him to go home and i did the same and got the vw garage to come out on the warenty in the morning

whats the point in trying to fix a snapped cam belt, you aint going to do it, and seen as I am a trained mechanic and told them this over the phone, it seems to make some sense to listen. Virtually every time I have broken down, I have told other recovery companies and they send a vehicle accordingly. Why make work hard for yourself when not needed.?????

i helped a guy out who had broken down on the entrance to a motorway roundabout a few years ago. It was blatantly obvious that the distributor had either seized or worked loose, as all the control wires were wrapped around it and ripped out of the loom. I explained this to the AA guy, as he arrived, which he totally ignored, he then tried to turn the car over, spinning the distributor even more, what a wan**r. Needless to say i let him know it.;)
