What is the current in UK?

A friend of mine going to UK need to buy a transfo/adaptator to use french electric device in your country. Please could you tell me the current characteristic?

well i know into houses it is 240v but shavers use 115

erm.....this is what i was taught in physics

i know 240v is what goes in cos the step downtransformers do it...but then i know shavers use 115 as its on the wall....
