Most people first go paintball as it is a simulated or gayer version of war. The pain of getting shot, enough to get th juices flowing. These days you can pop in COD4 or Blackops in the PS3 and get a Hi Def shooty experience, call in fast air & drink Stella at the same time (bit better than Operation Wolf methinks). As peoples gaming expectations have moved on, so does the attraction or draw of Paintball. Tournament has been in regression since 2002, and paintball has nothing new to offer to players and the public alike.
Paintball needs to come up to date first, or at least work out where the fun is and sell that. A quasi sport with a mass of stupid rules and over zealous refs isn't appealing to anyone. Either that or Planet better invent a simulated airstrike and carrier launched scenario days.
