It's all academic anyway. No-one can physically pull the trigger that fast, and those series that don't specify purely semi auto are capped at 15bps. And I've yet to hear about a practical loader that will feed at anywhere near the rate of 40bps.

At very high rates of fire, you start being limited by the amount of stress a paintball can take.

At 40bps, a paintball must travel its own diameter in 1/40th of a second, it must be able to hit the bottom of the breach at that speed and not break.

That might be fine for very tough paint, but not the type thats gonna break on the opposition...
