hi all,
i am just making this thread because i am looking to find out what is a good gun for recball and could also perform well in a novice tournament.
After buying accesories(tubes, harnesses etc) i will have about £365 to spend on a gun + upgrades as I want it to be good.
I was looking at a tippmann '98 as they are cheap, reliable, and tough.
Please give me some ideas
thanks

If u have that much to spend take a look at 2nd hand automags. That should set u back about £180 - £250 (dependant on setup, AIR, etc).

Leaving you cash to buy your equipment. Automag is a study gun that can stand up to the abuse of Rec-ball, altho it does have problems keeping with with todays electros, it was the torney marker of choice back in the day :)

A tippmann would have to be heavy upgraded to even compare to a automag IMHO cuz i hate the stinking things :)

Hi midget, well done you managed to say Automag on the forum without someone slaging them off(so far)
Your right of course in saying its the best choice for that amount of cash+ their pretty simple to look after and even simpler to use.:D

You still looking for a 2nd hand Warp? I`ll ask around for you ,but to be honest once you've got one you keep it.

Autocockers are good. But harder to maintain then a automag... even more so if there is no one that you know with a cocker. Also, from u showing that price in $$$ i assume the deal was on a USA website. If so, you must account for import tax + P&P, which can often add another $40+ onto the total cost. Buying from america is sadly never face value, and i tend not to bother.

On the plus side, cockers can be upgraded to the max, and there is plenty of room for personalization.

You say u want a "new" gun. Seriously, there is nowt wrong with buying 2nd markers. ALL my markers have been 2nd hand, and i've had few problems (an O-ring here and there).

Have a browse on the Classifeds on here matey.

PS. I know ;)

Look at avatar please...

That's what Autocockers do to Tippmanns. You'll probably end up getting made fun of if you bring a Tippmann to a tournament. My cousin does, and his even has a lot of upgrades. Not just for bragging rights, ect. but Autocockers are a lot better than any Tippmann. As for upgrades on a budget, get a DYE Ultralight(99.00$), and an Air America Steel 68 ci 3000 psi Melee system(129.00) for your Cocker- then you're ready to rock.
