I was wondering what people thought was the best vehicle for transporting a 5-man team about for a weekends 'balling.

The criteria to fulfill:

Space for 5 people to sit in comfort
Economical and mechanically sound
Space for the 5 peoples kit (a 7.5 tonne lorry!:D)
Looks good:cool:

I am thinking Double Cab pickup or people carrier, not sure what manufacturer/model. Any suggestions?

P.S. our Americans cousins are excluded from making suggestions becuse the houses they call cars aren't readily available in the UK and I don't have Beckhams cash!:)

I would go for a LWB Transit

then get to a scrap yard, and get me some bench seats. I was looking at something along these lines for our team, but the additional cost on the boat is nutz. :-(

Hmmm, perhaps you should list the requirements in the order of importance, hence I rearrange for you in the true baller order:

Looks good
Space for 5 people to sit in comfort
Space for peoples Kit
Economical and Mechanically sound.

Given your criteria I suggest the following:

For todays Ghetto Baller

BMW X5 4.6 Sport. In Drug Dealer Spec (23" chrome alloys, black paint, black'ed out windows).
2003 Dodge Ram 3500 V10 Magnum Quad Cab.
Range Rover Autobiography
Stretch Chevvy Blazer - Fully loaded and with the Cyrstal.

For those on a sensible budget ;)

Mitsubishi LS200 Pickup Quad Cab
Chrylsler Voyager
Jeep Cherokee

Woods baller specials:

Ex Soviet BTR-80a or BMP-3 Kornet

(you should be able to pick either of these up from Dodgy Dieter our East German conection for a pair of Levis and a pack of Juicy Fruits.);)

Failing that just get an old Land Rover Defender LWB or Disco.

No! Should be space for kit comes before comfort for the passengers :D My marker is MUCH more important than any passengers

some think its ugly

Multipla

Remove a seat gives more than enough room for 5 and kit. Diesel best bet 45 mpg. Dimensions no bigger than family saloon. Cheap parts available across europe.

Looks kinda strange but made it onto the cool section on clarksons boards.

I love mine.

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
Last yr for Toulouse Portsmouth Uni had a Ford Tourneo, the executive bus version of the transit.

It's a 9 seater, but we had 10 players and a photographer, which buggered it up a little, but we got all 10 players kit in the boot, which left the 9 seats free for sitting.

It's got the pimp additions such as tinted windows, air-con (essential in toulouse) and funky looking wheels.
Oh, and it is the best vehicle I've ever driven (and I've driven a few)

Yep the L200 range is pretty cool. Like the new Warrior version myself, although can't see the misses driving it though.......... far too utilitarian:rolleyes:

Actually strike through all previous suggestions. There can be only one choice for todays discerning baller:

Hummer.

Room for 5 and kit
A .50 Caliber on the roof or TOW missile launcher (extra handy for those M1 / M25 tailbacks
Beckham cool (already Armour Plated)
Room for a Jacuzzi full of biatches in the back.
Comes in Black, ideal for cruising the kings road or fighting in the Gulf at night.
