I already booked tickets for the train to Londen city. What is the best way to go to Essex? Train, bus, taxi? What is the distance? Thanks

you need to get a train from Fenchurch Street that goes towards Southend/Shoeburyness. be careful though cos the track splits in 2 and only 1 goes to Basildon

OK to dispel any rumours...

Basildon is the chosen Venue, although the council are being very elusive at present. The venue is the same as last year but not utilising the stadium iteself. This was one area, from the feedback received, that needed improvement from last year.

Due to the movement of the tournament from July there will not be a free festival like we had last year. This is a pity as the council confirmed gate was in excess of 40,000 people for that event but the move has been forced due to the Nurburgring availability.

I am in talks with the Bas Vegas people and in particular Luminar to get a similar free/discounted entry to all the nightime facilities. Bas Vegas is undergoing a bit of a facelift in some parts. 4 of Luminars venues are being refurbished and some re-branding going on. We also have another venue that has opened called Skybar.

Travel to the site is simple By car M25 - A127 to southend and take the first Basildon Turn off.

By Train - Fenchurch Street & Liverpool Street lines into Basildon or Wickford respectively.

Camping will be available OFF SITE - just 2 miles down the road.

For those making a long weekend of it, Southend has a Free Airshow on the Sunday and Monday which is usually pretty good. Of course on Sunday all of you will be playing the Finals but we are in the flight path in and out.

I'm hoping that we can improve on the number of attending teams this year as last years turn out in the m5 was lower than expected - this may have been because of the July timing and peoples vacation????

More will be posted on the MS webiste soon.

train is a very easy way to come from london to basildon. Fields were about 15 minutes walking.

it was 11 pounds (19 euros as I remember) for the return from Fenchurch...

edit : it takes 25 minutes to come form london (fenchurch) by train
