It all comes down to interupting the rules. The rules as well as the laws are written for the spirit of the law. But when you have a over trigger happy ref or police officer you are bound to end up on the short side of it.

Don't get me wrong I think that some of the best reffing is when the refs/ marshals are pulling good 141s but I think the out of bounds thing especially on the back line is just stupid. There should be no back line. I have seen teams looking for a flag that the ref forgot to hang get pulled for going behind the station. Another issue is when the teams start in the station and step accidentally out of bounds on their way to a bunker to have a happy ref run up and pull them.

It all goes back to the spirit of the rules vs the letter of the law.
that my 2 cents

Yes i must admit that sometimes there are some rules that make me wonder if the only reason that they are there are to give refs the freedom to screw some teams over...

I sincerely do not agree with the sticker rule, i think it doesn't make sense as it robs the teams of valuable sponsor space.

I sincerely do not see the point in the picking paint off the floor rule, is that supposed to make paintball more like real war?

The boundary rule...it makes sense in the sides to give players a safe route out of the field, but makes no sense on the back line especcially because there are so many people that get pulled stupidly because of that rule...

About the leaving equipment behind rule...well, i suppose it would make reffing the game much more complicated if it didn't exist, for all the reasons allready posted on this thread, such as refs having to keep an eye on dropped equipment, facilitating cheating etc.

Well the "don´t pick up paintballs from the ground"-rule is pretty obvious to me?!!

Can you imagine what might happend if a small stone or something similar got in the hopper as well, being stuck to the paint or something - whoooops - there you have a broken lense or even worse.......

What concerns the neck protection and sticker rule - I really see no reason in them?! If you had rules for stickers as you do for clothing/equipment, that being no orange color, then what is the big problem? And about the neck protection - it is no worse than the allowed/used head bands.....
