Isnt that how it always goes?

They bleat about something, get offered it and then don't make use of it!!

I would argue though that the timing of this one could have been better!! Teams will have spent a small fortune getting out to Toulouse and also playing 7's here

Do they really want a 5 man now?

Which weekend is this? There is a decent event run by Nick Skirmish at his new site this weekend (11th), and next is the PA (18th) if Im not mistaken, so if the wonderful D7s organisers had used their noodles a bit then maybe some teams would have attended.

Yes we want prize money, no we cannot be in two places at once. Alright? Can we go now?

Bolter - You miss the point entirely, those other events do not offer prize money in the hundereds, you'll be lucky to get a box of paint and a steel egg-cup for your trouble!

Mark- I agree the timing is off, I guess the answer to your question depends on if teams want a chance at winning any money this year! For many this would be the only chance in hell they'll have...

apologies, I didn't think I had missed the point cause I meant that teams are already committed to these events (like the PA) and if another tournie came along and it offered prize money do these teams just abandon the series for one event?

Is it the PA weekend?

If thats meant to be a retorical question I have no idea, I don't play major super league events like the PA cup....that level of play is far beyond anything ive ever seen, it'd probably blow my mind.

I know one thing, i'd rather play an event where I could win lots of cash against some of the best teams in the uk, and win cash at more events in the future, than play the PA cup. As TJ would say DO THA MATH!

No, it's this weekend (11th) and the PA is the following one (18th). Dartford events will never clash with PA events, partly because of the good relationship Dave has with Gillie & Hatts and partly because I can't be in 2 places at once!

sorry i didn't know. The PA cup is a series that has one tournie per month and points from each leg count toward the final standings at the end of the year. So what I mean is that domestic teams are not booked in probably because they have played some legs of the PA series already and if they dropped it due to a one off event that had a prize fund, they may lose overall series points and limit their chances of winning the overall title (be it a steel eggcup or whatever ;) ). So yes I am doing the math.

Thats probably why there aren't that many teams entered. Im sure if this was being held on another weekend, teams would clamber at the chance of boosting the team funds by winning prize money. What is the prize fund do you know? I am interested at how much we are being tempted with.

Edit: thanks Liz, so its the 11th, there is a tournie already being held on the 11th which is at the new Skirmish site, and so I guess teams are entered into that instead. Im sure its not a "we don't want to win money" thing, Im sure its a (as Liz said) "we can't be in two places at once" thing.
