it's only good enough if the people who come in first are heavily sponsored, it took our team a lot of domination before we ever got sponsored, now look at us.

Total Control

Well

In that case, the best thing to do is type up a detailed breakdown of your team: Team name, team captain, players, markers, ages, team accomplishments, and what you can do for your sponsor and what you expect from them. Then mail that out to all the companies you like and hope for the best. Thats all I can say.

Hope it helps

who comes first? and have they got any sponsorship?

the main thing is to get to know people in the industry and coming second in a couple tourneys isn't really enough to claim 'that should be good enough'

have you played any Millenium events?
Euro Indoor?
Simply the Best?
Diablo Cup?

these are the big tourneys that sponsors want to see you performing in.

sorry to rant but the Troopers have been playing their balls off in Series 2000, 2001 and played Campaign 2000, 2001 and Toulouse 2001. and aren't exactly getting sponsors throwing themselves at them. Just thanks to JCS for helping the lads out now.

No offense, but do you get covered in any major publications? Will your performance on the tournament scene make a major impact on company sales of a particular product? You have to remember, sponsorship is a symbiotic relationship- you get products or money, and the company gets their products associated with your winning status. If the company does not get something in return, then you basically just raping them. :D See what a professional that had full sponsorship has to say:

If you get together an impressive "paintball resume" of tournaments you've won, and major paintball publications you've been featured in, then a company will be less hesistent about giving you money. Why? Because they se a potential return.

Like cjohns said, HAVE FUN, kick ass, win tournaments, and you will be worthy of sponsorship.
