after all the stuff with air systems blowing up from oil and things can anyone tell me why wd40 doesn't blow up when you spray it out of the can. Is it because it doesn't come out fast enuff to cause heat friction?

just something i wondered about walking home really....

also can i have nobody start saying 'don't use WD40' on my gun and air. i know not to, i'm just curious as to the above.

i don't think that WD40 is under enough pressure to ignite, nor does it come out fast enough. I think cans are at under 100psi, and that is a big stepdown from a marker air systems that output at about 800psi!

So when you spray a can of WD40 through a flame and you get that massive cloud of fire, is it the lubricant or the propellant that ignites? ;)

(please don't try this though... the flame can shoot back towards the nozzle at an alarming rate)
