Not enough been wrote about the amazing Malaga event so here I go....

Thats the way to finish off an amzing millennium series!!!

Malaga was by far my favourite this year!!! Man it was amazing!! If your weren't there then you missed out cos it was simply the best European event this year!!! Toulouse was awesome don't get me wrong... but Malaga was the BOMB!!! It was on the beach, it had Bikini's, it had a full stretch of bars, it had more pro's than you could shake a stick at, it had a whole group of granny's asking us what it was all about and ten minutes later screaming "One for One him!!"... It had EVERYTHING a baller could ask for.... Trust me it was truly awesome!!!!

I hope this is the standard the Millennium series is setting from now on because everything about it has left me gobsmacked.. Even the reffing was top notch...seriously!!

Thius isn't some Random bull**** either co's I've been to a load of these events this year and Miami last year and I think this one was the best event so far... the atmosphere was electric!!! Walking out onto the fields was intense... The crowd was cheering everytime someone got shot in the face... It was just a different class!!!

Maybe the abscence of the Yank pro's has weakend the other legs a little but this one has rounded the year Euro-mill-series season off and truly set the standard!!!!

Mass respect to the Kelly's on third place!!! Their game against Avalanche is going down as the best I've seen yet!!!

Peace and Love:cool:

Well, I do have to agree with that - go to HB if you possibly can. If you can't, then Malaga was a pretty good alternative. Although there were some issues during the event, overall I thought it was great. The atmosphere alone was worth the trip. Who doesn't want to play paintball with big non-paintball crowds, girls in bikinis and cheap beer?

While the organization wasn't quite up to NPPL standards, it was still a great event. Big thanks to Andy Scutt and the Millenium staff for running a top notch event. I'll be back next year!

And while I"m at it, thanks to:

Steve Morris for bringing me over to ref.
The other head refs Marko, Kenneth and Neil for a job well done.
My reffing team, Instinct from Germany, for really putting in the effort and doing a great job.
All the teams for playing some great ball and for the outstanding sportsmanship they showed. That's one area Europe is still way ahead of the US in.
Colin for some great field designs.
And last but not least, the bar staff for being, um, inspiring :D

Svens, anfangen jetzt!

we believe you Ronnie. we believe you.

I find it strange though how one event can be as amaizing as Toulouse or Malaga, and another can be as poor as Paris or CC.

So was it sand or was it astro on top of sand? And also what was the food like? Burger stand or something for athletes? Were you allowed to take your own water in (unlike DMA) ? etc etc

I dont. Each individual promoter runs the event. They are the difference between a good event and a not so good one.

It was astro on sand. And it was great to slide on! I saw some awesome dives during the weekend. There was plenty of food, reasonably priced, and it was good food as well. Burgers, Hot dogs, large baguettes with ham/cheese, chicken salad, chips. there was a huge selection of drinks. You were also allowed to take your own food and drinks in to the site as well

There were plenty of uber cheap places to eat opposite the site, and the food in those places was also great. I think a grilled garlic chicken, vegetables and chips with cheesy garlic bread and a drink came to 8 Euros

It was obvious that Scutty and Chris had put a huge amount of work in. Everytime i asked for something on the radio, it was scutty who answered and he who took care personally of what i asked for. It was superbly run, and well organised.

Andy and his crew should be very proud of what they achieved, which in my opinion was better than Toulouse and was easily the event of the year. Next year there will be hundreds of teams who will want to go. you had better make sure you get in fast if you want to play this next year!

Congrats Scutty:D Now you can have a rest!:)

How did the streetball go?

Yes CC and Malaga are both Campaign events.

Whats the difference??

Venue.

Hand on heart I thought CC would rock across the boards this year. I think those that played X Ball were happy but unfortunately (through no fault of ours) the emphasis was on the minority playing a different format. X Ball had to be at Campaign. We were contracted to do so.

We made an effort to put everything close for the seven man teams as a result of previous years moans about having to walk a long way. The result of this was unfortunately a lack of atmosphere. But you learn from your mistakes.

Crystal Palace couldn't let us know until the month before whether we could go back due to their lease renewal, we had to find a new home........... We wont return to Esher Rugby Club though.

If I decide to hold it again the Campaign Cup will be in the public domain, just like we did in Malaga and I don't mean on the pebbles at Brighton beach. So watch this space.

Thanks to all those who have supported us so far....Keep it up.

Final Thankyou!

Just to echo Mr Farley, congrats to all the MS and Malaga Beach Staff. They really all pulled together and worked hard to make this one of the best events I have ever been to.

Cheers to Steve Morris for letting me loose on unsuspecting players (again!) and to all the teams I have had the pleasure to Ref with this year:

Bad Touch
FreeFall
Eiffel Blitz
Evil Pigs
Campaign 2K4
Limited Edition
and of course the Pro Refs and Head Refs who just keep coming back for more.....

Without the teams being willing to put in the effort to Ref there would be no events!

Cheers all, I'll be in the bar until next year......;)
