May well recommend ptfe, I from experience can not recommend it.

Many years ago I used PTFE putting the elbows on an expansion chamber with an Automag. Some of the ptfe got into the expansion chamber and blocked off the flow.

Maybe I used too much, personally now only use blue loctite and have never had a problem. As long as you leave it to dry and apply sparingly.

Most of the problems with PTFE come from people wrapping it round the threads 5 or 6 times, when in fact you should do it 1 and a 1/2 times (the half is just to make it stick to itself and stop it slipping).

Having said that, it has been know in the past for PTFE to get old, fragment, and then little bits go up through your reg, making it free-flow, get up in the gun and make it stop working just as you're about to mug the last man in, 1v1 in the finals... ;)

I think part of that was back when we were all using CO2, and the ptfe didn't like being frozen.

Still, 243 loctite is the stuff to use - just a small drop on the start of the threads, give it time to cure, and all will be happy.
