The power ups and weapon pick-ups appear to be an "arcade-mode" feature. So, there may well be a structured tournament mode similar to GHTP.
Remember that the review is posted on a gamer site and has not been put together by paintballers. So, in my opinion, the jury is still out on this one and its great to see more paintball action hitting the mainstream market.

tbh I'm not that impressed, Greg hastings looks a lot more tournemet style, and what we think paintball is all about. This seems to be to Quake stylely, if you know what I mean?

Also i found this about the game:
#1. They've added BUNKER SWAY to the game. If you hit a bunker it moves a lil bit and sways. If you run into a bunker after a sprint it sways more.
#2. The FIELD EDITOR is awsome. You start out with all the airball stuff, and then as you progress through CAREER mode you get more and more stuff you can put in there. You have COMPLETE control of placement, position, size, rotation, mirroring, etc. Not to mention you can create some pretty funky stuff once you start unlocking things.
#3. The glitches have been fixed. I couldn't rolly glitch or any variation. I even tried to get out of the map and it was fixed too. Plus their AI guy, who also worked on the glitch fixes, let me know that someone does find a way out... it wont matter. They've coded a border, and if you get out of the map somehow you automatically die. So they cant get out regardless.
#4. Online has support for clans including creating 8 team tourneys, leader boards for competitions, clan info pages, etc.
