Warped Presents BT Global Game

Okay, an update for you, folks.
We have received our mission instructions from the guys at BT and it's looking good!
The day will be split into 3 game sessions; 2 of two hours, and 1 of one hour, with a variety of missions to be completed within each. There will also be two break sessions for general recovery.
Players will form 2 teams, Red and Blue, with the mission points scored by each being uploaded to a live online scoring system. The local results from each participating field across the world will contribute to a global points total for each team.
Missions will each have their own time limits for completion; ranging from 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on the given objective.
Expect a variety of objectives from "Sweep and Clear" directives, "Extraction" missions, and "Take and Hold" style tasks.
Multiple missions will be active at any one time so there will be something for everyone and more than enough to keep you busy, especially since each objective will have differing points values for completion.
Respawn during the game will be in effect; through on-field "medics", and at designated respawn points.
All-in-all it's got us excited here in the Warped office-we can't wait to see the action in full effect- and we're working hard to come up with one or two surprises for you all
Chrono limit is 280 fps and ramping is all good (but no full auto or burst fire modes, obviously).

...In this time of economic crises the world economy begins to fail.
As a result of the unethical machinations of international banking conglomerates, Governments are rendered powerless and indebted; unable to take action to check the “progress” of these profit-hungry corporations as they trade commodities and natural resources at the expense of the population and the environment.
Resources are pillaged, sold to the highest bidder, and as supplies dwindle; so do prices soar. Communities around the globe are left unable to afford the basic amenities to live, whilst banking fat-cats live large and prosper.
With existing sources exhausted, these corporations seek the last pockets of available resources to exploit and plunder to satisfy their obsession with dollars, pounds, and pence.
In a desperate attempt to prevent their downfall and the very lives of the people, the beleaguered governments form the people into State battalions, charged with obtaining and defending the few resources that are left unclaimed. The banking corporations response is to hire groups of amoral mercenaries, known collectively as “The Rangers”, to commence “aggressive negotiations” and sweep aside resistance, acquiring control of any available sources of potential profit.
Too impotent to act alone to truly put an end to this reign of corporate irresponsibility; government leaders coordinate in secret to arrange a global fight back.
The date is 08/08/09. On this day, people around the world will reclaim their rights to thrive and survive; or lie broken under the bankers’ boot heel, there to wither and starve. This is NOT a local skirmish; this is GLOBAL. This is WAR.

Over 5500 players worldwide commited to play this. Pretty good for a first attempt as this kind of structure.
So far the UK leg has been booked by 70 players. We have staff on site at the moment setting out the game areas and making some changes to allow us to run the various mission formats - should be a great days play with something for everyone.
We will be using some of the game management techniques we have honed through our Big Games to make for exciting, flowing games. Expect disposable armbands, respawn areas, airstrikes, radio linked generals etc.
